Are you saying help save my marriage? Romance, passion, and desire are all qualities everyone wants in their marriage but until underlying conflicts and
problems are resolved it is difficult to generate a permanent change in your marriage.
We've all heard the statistics that half of all marriages end in divorce, but in truth; it is never too late to
save your marriage. Even if there has been infidelity in your marriage, you can still save your marriage without
marriage counseling. It takes hard work, determination, and change to get your marriage back to the way it was the day
you walked down the aisle and vowed to be together until "death do us part." We all walk into marriage a little bit
blind to the realities of what a life-long commitment means. In the height of your overwhelming love for your spouse, you
falsely believe that love is enough. Unfortunately, as the fairy tale changes to reality and real life problems set it
on our marriage you find yourselves asking, "how can I save my marriage?" Setting realistic expectations for your marriage
is the first step. You and your spouse have to accept that their will be conflicts and disagreements. No one can make
another person happy 100% of the time. Not only is it important to have realistic expectations for your marriage, but you
must maintain effective and open communication with your spouse. This can be one of the most difficult things in a marriage.
You start to assume that your spouse knows us well enough, or
should know you well enough, to understand your
expectations of them. With this mentality you close the door on comunication and find yourself being disappointed over
and over again when your spouse fails to read your mind. Communication goes beyond talking to your spouse. You must
also be willing to listen and hear the truth. The truth is often harder to accept than a lie, but to save your marriage
you must be willing to listen and accept the truth. Each spouse has to open the door to communication and begin discussing
both positive and negative feelings about your marriage. Only when you uncover the underlying conflicts and begin resolving
them, can you truly save your marriage and stop divorce.
